In the Garden | Luke 22:42 | Walking with Jesus — Volume 1: Saved & Loved
A gentle Bible meditation inviting children and families to pause, reflect on Jesus’ words, and walk closely with Him.
A Still Moment — Only One Life Story
On a quiet night beneath olive trees, Jesus prayed one of the most powerful prayers ever spoken. In this Still Moment, we follow Him into the garden and listen as He shows us how to trust God even when our hearts feel heavy.

Bible Story Meditation
Scripture Focus — Luke 22:42 (KJV)
“Father, if Thou be willing, remove this cup from Me: nevertheless not My will, but Thine, be done.”
Entering the Still Moment
Take a slow breath in.
And gently let it out.
Imagine walking quietly through a garden at night. The air is cool, and the silver light of the moon rests softly on the leaves of the olive trees.
Jesus walks ahead of you.
The city behind is silent. The night feels still and sacred.
Soon He stops among the trees and kneels to pray.
Meditation Reflection
In the quiet of the garden, Jesus spoke a prayer that revealed both His sorrow and His trust.
“Father, if Thou be willing, remove this cup from Me: nevertheless not My will, but Thine, be done.”
Jesus knew that difficult things were ahead. Yet instead of running away, He placed His trust completely in His Father.
This prayer teaches us something very important about faith.
Sometimes we wish life would go exactly the way we want. But God sees the whole story — past, present, and future. His wisdom is greater than ours, and His love never fails.
When we pray like Jesus prayed, we are saying:
“God, I trust You more than I trust my own plans.”
And when we place our worries in His hands, peace begins to grow in our hearts.
Is there something you can place into God’s hands today and trust Him with?
