“There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?”
Entering the Still Moment
Take a slow breath in.
And gently let it out.
Imagine sitting on a green hillside on a warm afternoon. The grass moves softly in the breeze, and the crowd gathers quietly to listen to Jesus.
Families sit together. Children watch with curious eyes.
Everyone is listening to His words.
But as the day grows long, a new question begins to whisper through the crowd.
“How will all these people eat?”
Meditation Reflection
Among the thousands of people on that hillside was one boy with a very small lunch — just five barley loaves and two fish.
To the disciples, it seemed like nothing.
But Jesus saw something different.
When the boy placed his small gift in Jesus’ hands, something wonderful happened. The bread was blessed, broken, and shared until everyone had enough to eat — and even more remained.
This story reminds us that God loves to work through small things.
A kind word.
A helping hand.
A simple prayer.
When we offer what we have to Jesus, He can turn it into something far greater than we imagine.
