And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.”

Entering the Still Moment
Take a slow breath in…
and gently let it out.
The palace is far behind now.
The air smells different — clean, wild, and free.
You are walking beside Elijah along a narrow path through rocky hills.
The only sound is the crunch of dry earth beneath your sandals and the soft whisper of wind moving through the grass.
After Elijah spoke God’s message to the king, the Lord gave him a new instruction:
“Hide yourself by the brook Cherith.”
Let’s go with him.
Meditation Reflection
After Elijah spoke God’s message to the king, the Lord led him away from the palace and into a quiet place.
At the brook Cherith, Elijah learned something important: God often takes care of His people in hidden ways. The water from the brook refreshed him, and the ravens brought food morning and evening.
It may have looked unusual, but it showed Elijah that God had not forgotten him. Even in a lonely place, God was providing exactly what he needed.
Sometimes we also find ourselves in quiet or hidden moments where we wonder if God sees us.
But the story of Elijah reminds us that God’s care flows even when we cannot see how it will happen.
Where might God be inviting you to trust His care today?
