A gentle Bible story meditation inviting children and families to pause, reflect, and see how God shows both His power and His love.
A Still Moment — Only One Life Story
In this Still Moment, Elijah stands on Mount Carmel before a great crowd. The prophets of Baal call on their gods, but no answer comes. Then Elijah prays a simple prayer, and God answers with fire — reminding everyone that the Lord alone is God.

Entering the Still Moment
Take a slow breath in…
and gently let it out.
The mountain air feels hot and still.
A great crowd gathers on Mount Carmel, watching and waiting.
Elijah stands before them, calm and steady, trusting that the Lord will reveal the truth.
Meditation Reflection
On Mount Carmel, Elijah did not shout or argue to prove that God was real.
Instead, he trusted God to answer.
The prophets of Baal called loudly for hours, but nothing happened. When Elijah prayed, God answered with fire — showing that the Lord alone has power over heaven and earth.
This moment reminds us that God does not need noise or force to prove His power.
When we trust Him and call on His name, He reveals Himself in ways that no one can deny.
Where might God be inviting you to trust His power today?
